Our Story
From Frustration to Innovation
Orbit began with a problem that our founders, Mark Mars and Jack Coots, experienced firsthand. After a decade at Microsoft, Mark had become increasingly frustrated with the disconnect between brilliant conversations and the poor documentation that followed.
"We'd have these incredible meetings with clients and team members where breakthrough ideas emerged, only to see them poorly captured or completely lost in hastily-written notes," Mark recalls. "I kept thinking: there has to be a better way to preserve the value of these conversations."
That frustration became the catalyst for Orbit. In 2022, Mark partnered with Jack Coots, a technology leader with deep expertise in AI systems and natural language processing, to address this universal challenge.
"We didn't want to just build another transcription tool," explains Jack. "We wanted to create an intelligent system that could understand the context of conversations and transform them into actionable, structured documents tailored to specific professional needs."
